At the end of August, Zhuzhou Chengjia (Baiguan) 220 kV smart energy station, the first domestic 220 kV smart energy station constructed by Hunan Power Transmission and Transformation Engineering Co., Ltd., was officially completed and put into operation.

On the basis of substation, the project integrates the functions of building data center station, energy storage station, electric vehicle charging station, photovoltaic power station, 5G base station, etc. It is a comprehensive energy hub for building "energy flow, data flow, business flow" three in one, integrated operation, and also a smart energy station with the highest degree of integration of 220 kV voltage level in China, realizing the exploration and practice of resource conservation, environment-friendly, and "multi station integration" construction.


Green construction highlights

"As the first smart energy station in China, there is no experience to learn from. We can imagine the difficulties encountered during the construction, but there are always more ways than difficulties." Recalling the hardships in the construction process, Huang Xiangyuan, the project manager of the project, said frankly. In the preparatory stage of the project, he led the team to extensively collect the cases of the gold and silver award project of the high-quality project of the State Grid both inside and outside the province. Through courseware learning and field visits, he pooled his wisdom and explored the plan for the construction of the "green construction pilot project", which finally formed a set of green construction planning plans, and achieved good results in the construction.

It is reported that a large number of prefabricated products, such as prefabricated cable trenches, prefabricated enclosures, prefabricated firewalls, and prefabricated charging pile foundations, produced by the Assembly and Construction Branch of Dali Group, have been fully used in the project. The prefabricated rate of engineering structures and buildings is up to 90%, greatly reducing on-site wet work, and powerfully promoting the modular construction of substations.

A large number of machines, such as multi-functional electric construction drilling rig, hydraulic vibrating hammer, small folding boom truck, lifting platform truck, were used in the whole construction process. The mechanization rate of foundation construction was 100%, which greatly reduced the safety risks and improved the construction efficiency.

"The comprehensive implementation of modular construction, the comprehensive application of green construction, standardized site layout, and the pilot of 'BIM+AR' technology in the construction process have promoted the innovation of power grid construction mode." During the construction, the project won the honors of "Five Good Demonstration Site for Construction Safety Management of Power Transmission and Transformation Project" of State Grid Corporation of China (the best demonstration site for green construction) and "Standardized Demonstration Site" of State Grid Hunan Electric Power Co., Ltd.

The project was started in May 2021, but as early as the end of 2020, Hunan Power Transmission and Transformation Company established an experienced construction team, who repeatedly studied relevant academic papers, contacted equipment manufacturers, went to Sany Construction Engineering Co., Ltd., Dali Group Assembly and Construction Branch, etc. to study on the site.

"For the prefabricated small foundation of the charging pile, how can the cable pass through the foundation to the cabinet? Where is the foundation opening? How large is the opening? All these must be considered in advance." Wu Zhenhua said that the project involved more than 50 equipment manufacturers. During the peak period of electrical installation from March to May this year, he had to communicate with manufacturers nearly 100 times every day.

"The exploration of excellence day and night makes the 'wisdom' of 'integration' accurately presented in this project." Wu Zhenhua said that the modular construction, building block construction and integrated commissioning of the project greatly shortened the construction period, reduced the construction cost and realized the construction integration.

The AC/DC microgrid system, integrated monitoring system, energy storage transformer and other systems and equipment configuration schemes with wide functional integration and high degree of integration achieve equipment integration. As an old party member, Chen Weibing volunteered to stay on the front line and take the lead in overcoming difficulties during nearly 500 days and nights of the project construction.

At the beginning of the year, Hunan was hit by a heavy snowstorm. The safety team led by Chen Weibing, against the flying snow, detected whether the electric equipment and distribution box in the station were leaking electricity, reinforced the edge fence twice and made clear signs, counted and protected the construction materials, and earnestly made plans for dealing with snowstorms and other accidents. In the face of super long rainy season and continuous hot weather, Chen Weibing played the role of "mother-in-law" and took the trouble to implement safety control requirements to ensure the intrinsic safety of the project.

The substations included in the hub can gradually provide 960000 KVA transformation capacity, providing a strong power guarantee for the surrounding industrial parks; The all element micro module machine room of the data center station will share powerful computing power and data storage services with the society; The construction of distributed photovoltaic can produce 310000 kilowatt hours of clean energy power every year, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by about 260 tons; 14 charging posts can temporarily meet the charging needs of surrounding electric vehicles.
